So far everything has been mostly unchanged from the original 1972 design but the fuselage was originally designed as a pure-glider or with a rear-mounted engine. I'm going to use electric power though, so I redesigned the "fuselage" to suit my needs.
The fuselage design I based around a 28mm motor. The pusher-arrangement has obvious down-thrust as does the new design (not quite as much but it was a definite compromise, hopefully it will work).
The original article for the design suggests the side-area and moments should be maintained - which I did. I also used similar construction, using 1/2" balsa for the top and chin-piece, 1/4" balsa for the sides, 1/8" for the rear planking, and large triangle stock to join it all together.
